Thames Yacht Club Mooring Requirements (rev: March 2012)
- Mooring rules established by the Thames Yacht Club will govern all club members.
The Mooring Committee is responsible for control of the mooring area to ensure
compliance with Federal, State and Local Regulations.
- All winter markers must be removed by June 1 and replaced with a properly marked float.
- All floats are to be white with a blue stripe marked with the anchor weight,
owner’s name, and TYC mooring number. Marking with boat name is optional. Marking with reflective tape is recommended but not required in the designated anchorage.
- All Thames Yacht Club mooring owners are required to submit an annual
Mooring Space Application that requires a physical inspection of the ground
tackle every two years. This completed application must be forwarded, along with a copy of the boat's current state registration (Harbor Master requirement), to the mooring committee by June 1 to ensure compliance. The application will be logged in and forwarded to the appropriate diver/inspector for signatures and/or inspection. Mooring applications will then be given to the harbormaster for recording.
